REAC Inspections to Resume

On April 23, 2021, HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge announced that HUD will substantially increase housing inspections beginning on June 1, 2021. Owner/Agents received a letter from The Secretary regarding the importance of HUD physical inspections for ensuring the whole health and well-being of the households we serve.

HUD has developed inspection protocols in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to minimize the risk of COVID transmission for all parties to an inspection including residents, inspectors, and Owner/Agents, to conduct inspections as safely as possible.

HUD’s Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) will notify Owner/Agents of its detailed plans for increasing inspections of Multifamily properties. Please see the press release for more information.
